ROBIN, BF1321 Date of Build/Launch: September 1903 Owner: John Smith, 21 Reidhaven St., Ianstown, Buckie Cost new was £1,000 Compound 2 cylinder steam engine 25 H.P. Manufactured by Clyne & Mitchell, Boilermakers and Engineers, Commercial Road, Aberdeen. 1913: Sold to C. McKay & W. McIntosh, Portessie, Buckie. From 1922 registered in the name of W. McIntosh only. 1915-19: Requisitioned for War Service (Pennant No. 2450) as a submarine net vessel/minesweeper with 2½ pounder gun. Sank North Sea 22/06/1924: Sank in position 56°35'N 2°12'W which is 10 miles ESE of Red Head in Angus. |
