Welcome to the Aberdeen Built Ships Project Website..

Use this website to search for information about any of the nearly 3,000 recorded ships built in Aberdeen since 1811 and to see what objects are held at Aberdeen Maritime Museum.

We have gathered information about these ships from the shipbuilder’s yard lists; our library of Lloyd’s Register of Shipping, from local resources and from the memories of local people associated with the shipyards of Aberdeen.

We have also digitized a large number of objects from Aberdeen Maritime Museum so that photographs, ships plans and other related material are also available to look at online.

Please note: Access to collections and reference materials is not possible as we pack all of our stored collections and create a new storage facility at Granitehill, Northfield, Aberdeen which will open to the public later this year.  As a result, we are currently unable to respond to enquiries until further notice.

Please check our main website www.aagm.co.uk for further details.
